Key Events
Kannada Rajyotsava & Parent Meet & Greet - Our Kannada Rajyotsava & Parent Meet & Greet is generally held during the first week of November.
Students, families, and teachers come together to celebrate Kannada Rajyotsava and our rich language, culture, and traditions. The event also provides an opportunity for parents to meet teachers, connect with other families, and strengthen our Kannada community.
Annual Day - Our Annual Day is generally held during the second week of May and is one of the highlights of our school year.
Each class has an opportunity to perform on stage and showcase students’ Kannada language skills and talents. Students who successfully complete their level are recognized and presented with certificates.
The celebration also includes our Guru Vandana program, giving students and families an opportunity to express their appreciation and gratitude to our teachers for their dedication and service.
Classes & Homework
All Chicago Savikannada Shaale classes are conducted virtually once a week using Google Classroom.
Homework assignments are posted in Google Classroom, and students are expected to complete and submit each assignment within two weeks of the assigned date.
Regular class participation and timely completion of homework help students stay engaged, reinforce what they learn in class, and make steady progress throughout the school year.
Exams & Student Progression
Students have two major exams during the school year:
Midterm Exam – Chapters 1–6: Conducted after completion of Chapter 6
Annual Exam – Chapters 7–12: Conducted after completion of Chapter 12
Students must achieve an overall score of at least 60% to meet the academic requirements for their level.
Students progress to the next level after completing the Annual Exam and meeting the required academic criteria.
Parents will be notified of the available exam dates in advance. Once an exam date is selected and finalized, we ask families to plan accordingly and ensure that their child is available to take the exam on the scheduled date.
Parent involvement plays an important role in a student’s success at Chicago Savikannada Shaale. We encourage parents to:
Check Google Classroom regularly for homework and updates.
Help children complete and submit homework within the two-week deadline.
Monitor school and teacher communications for important announcements and updates.
Support regular attendance and timely participation in weekly classes.
Help children prepare for exams and meet academic requirements.
Consistent attendance, active participation, timely completion of assignments, and meeting program requirements are especially important for students working toward High School credit eligibility.
